In designing the Secret Garden Suite, we wanted to include elements that would accentuate the vintage red Toile wallpaper that was original to the room. Features of an outdoor garden oasis included incorporating hanging birdcage pendant lamps and various stone busts/statues.

{process}
Initially the entire room was covered in the French Toile wallpaper, but we decided to leave one statement wall near the back of the room, complimenting it with a rice-printed hanging wall art on the opposing wall. A faux-French architectural Mantle was added below that, adding a hearth to this spacious room. The faux floor tiles in the entryway of the bedroom were both hand-stenciled with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and the gold wall floral motif above the headboards was hand illustrated. We are all about those special details, and this room has a particular amount of special pieces; some of our favorites to note include the all-white library in the entry, the metal bird sculpture by the windows, and the hand-painted french side chairs in black & white.
This room has a very special addition: the original owner's artwork hangs inside the mantle! It's a 100 year old oil painting of a floral still life scene.
