Wow, what a year 2018 has been! Thanks to all of you who have journeyed with us online or as customers of the shop. We wouldn’t be here without your support! We consider 2018 to be a year of transformation for us in many ways…to honor it (& because I kept dreaming of butterflies) I asked Chelsea (one of our super talented shop girls) to paint a Monarch wing on the front of this blue French Provincial buffet. The blue is a custom Annie Sloan mix (Giverny and Aubusson) with Clear Wax. For the butterfly wing, Chelsea used Barcelona Orange, Pure White,Graphite, Arles, and English Yellow topped with some sparkle (gold leaf flakes) and sealed.
I personally love the statement this butterfly buffet now makes! It’s a stunning use of complimentary color in a modern way. We moved it into the window before I had a chance to take real photos so hopefully I can get some better shots before it sells. If not, you may just have to come see it in person!
